Vasa Kayak Ergometer
The Kayak Ergometer reproduces the paddling stroke on land. The frame is steel tube with an epoxy coating and the monorail is anodised aluminium, so the machine tolerates the humidity of a pool hall or a boathouse. Footrests adjust quickly when athletes change over, and the seat is either a padded bench or a single racing seat, depending on how close to the boat the session needs to be.
Resistance comes from the biokinetic block in seven settings, and the cables take up the recoil so the stroke stays smooth and quiet. The VM-1 monitor displays time, distance, speed, stroke power in watts and the force of the right and the left arm — the data a coach needs for interval and technique work across more than 50 exercises. The machine folds and rolls on its wheels for storage. Vasa is the manufacturer.
