Vasa Swim Ergometer
The Swim Ergometer replaces the body-weight load of the trainer bench with a biokinetic block: the harder the athlete pulls, the more the block resists, which is how water behaves against the hand. The swimmer lies on a bench rolling on an aluminium monorail and pulls the paddles through a full stroke; paddles and handles are exchanged quickly, so the same machine serves stroke work and general upper-body strength across more than 50 exercises.
The Power Meter monitor reads speed, stroke rate, peak and steady stroke power, stroke length, distance and time, and tests the right and the left arm separately, which makes an asymmetry in the pull visible as a number. An audio signal sets the tempo for stroke-rate work. Clubs use the ergometer for land training, for testing between competition periods and for keeping swimmers in condition when the pool is closed. Vasa is the manufacturer.
