Protective covering for athletics arenas

A permanently installed running track or sports floor has to be protected whenever the arena is used for something other than athletics. This covering is made of 18 mm plywood boards with a resin coating and waterproof glued seams, bonded to EN 13986 and EN 636-2S. A 2 mm cork bottom layer is available on request.

The boards measure 2480 x 620 mm and weigh about 14 kg per square metre. They are joined by a patented Speed-Lock aluminium interlocking system, which gives a level surface without wide joints or height steps and takes almost no wear, so the boards survive repeated changeovers. The laid floor can be driven on by forklift trucks with a total weight of up to 10 t including load. Fire behaviour is class Bfl-s1 to DIN EN 13501-1; the system is also available in class Cfl-s1 to the same standard.
