Ice Cover Basic modular ice-rink covering
Ice Cover Basic covers an ice rink with modules that combine a coated plywood board, an insulating layer and aluminium interlocking profiles. The surface is a 240 g/m2 phenolic resin coating with a nap structure, black; under it sit an 18 mm birch plywood load distribution board to EN 13986 and EN 636-2S, 45 mm of rigid polystyrene foam and a 0.4 mm hard PVC bottom layer.
Total thickness is about 65 mm. One module measures 2400 x 600 mm, covers 1.44 m2 and weighs about 28 kg, roughly 19.5 kg per square metre. It is the lighter of the two Ice Cover build-ups and is used where an arena has to take the ice out of service for a non-ice event.
