Hand megaphone

The megaphone is used to call athletes to the start, to give instructions to a field of runners before a race and to work with a crowd on the infield. It is portable and battery operated, so it needs no connection to the stadium sound system.

It can be heard at 150 metres, which covers the length of a home straight.
