Sport floor series 1005 with crossed plywood strips
Series 1005 takes its resilience from two crossed layers of plywood strips rather than from a continuous plate. A 0.20 mm polyethylene sheet is laid on the concrete, then a 15 mm PUR elastic layer; the lower spring layer is 9 mm plywood strips at 105 mm spacing laid lengthwise, and the upper layer, of the same strips, is nailed across it with special cramps at 330 mm centres. The solid hevea parquet is then nailed down with T-shaped nails.
The gaps between the strips make the structure more flexible than a build on solid plates, which is the reason it is recommended for multi-sport halls, for gymnastics with older participants and for amateur players, where softer deflection reduces the load on joints. Total build-up 55 mm; declared to EN 14904 with an EN 13501 fire reaction certificate.
