Hammer Circle
The hammer circle is set into the concrete of the throwing area and defines the 2.135 m ring from which the hammer is thrown. This article is a steel circle for embedment and carries an IAAF certificate.
Where a sector already has a discus circle, the wooden conversion ring is the alternative: it drops into the discus ring in interlocking sections and reduces it to hammer diameter, so one sector serves both events without a second excavation.
