Laser distance measuring system

The system replaces the tape at a field event: a mark is sighted with the laser and the distance is read directly, which removes the two officials who would otherwise hold a tape across the sector and shortens the gap between attempts.

It covers throws as well as the horizontal and vertical jumps, and the manufacturer states readings accurate to the nearest one eighth of an inch.
