Shot put channel

After each throw the shot has to get back to the circle, and carrying it by hand is what slows a shot put competition down. The channel is a double rail of tubular steel on tripods, set on a slope so that a shot placed at the landing end rolls back to the athletes on its own.

The standard length is 20 m and the whole assembly comes apart for storage between competitions.
