SIROCCO remote wind gauge

SIROCCO measures the wind by ultrasound, with no cups or vanes to turn, so there is no mechanical inertia between a gust and the reading. It is placed beside the track at the point laid down for the event being run, on a standard tripod using the supplied adaptor.

The reading is sent over RS422 either to the SCAN’O’VISION computer through a powered INT131 interface, so that the wind is recorded with the photofinish result, or to a BOREAS display for the athletes and spectators. A 5 m cable is supplied; longer runs to the timing room are made up from the extension cables. The tripod is ordered separately.
