Lap Counter
The lap counter shows the number of laps remaining in the distance races. Three faces carry the same figure, so the count is readable from almost any point around the track, at distances up to 130 m; each digit is built from 150 amber LEDs whose brightness follows the ambient light.
A judge works the board from a hand-held controller with an LCD and a keypad on a three-metre cable, which leaves room to stand clear of the finish line. The five-leg support adjusts between 1.8 and 2.5 m and carries three hooks for the bell that marks the last lap; the bell is ordered separately.
