Skate sharpening machine SSM-2 (SSM-2 PRO)
SSM-2 does the finishing sharpening of a skate blade, flat or with a hollow, and is the machine a rink keeps in its sharpening room for daily work: a hockey team sharpens before most sessions, and a public rink with rental skates runs through a queue of pairs every day. The machine is compact and light enough to travel with a team, and the guide arm carries the skate past the wheel in one pass, so a blade takes under a minute.
The skate itself is gripped by a separate holder chosen for the blade — the dimensions and weight below are for the machine alone, without holder and extraction tube. An extraction unit connects to the tube and takes the grinding dust away from the operator. Two versions of the blade support device are built: the plain SSM-2 sets the height of the support roller with an adjustment screw, the SSM-2 PRO sets it on a graduated scale turned to the measured blade thickness.
