Backstroke Rope
The rope is strung across the pool five metres from each wall and carries the flags that tell a backstroke swimmer where the wall is. The flags measure 200 mm at the base and 400 mm on the sides, in accordance with World Aquatics rule FR 3.11.
The rope is made of vinyl and nylon 650 in lengths of 22 m and 27 m, for 25 m and 50 m pools. It is hung on the posts or on the turn board at each side of the pool.
