Swim Course Marker-Buoy, Large

The buoy marks the turns of an open water course, the points the swimmers have to round. It is made of strong plastic and is inflated on site, standing 2000 mm high and 1300 mm across when inflated, which keeps it visible from the water and from the escort boats.

Open water courses vary, but a normal layout uses six to eight large buoys for the course and two small ones for the finish gate.
