Competition take-off board
The take-off board marks the line the long or triple jumper must not cross. The board is white gloss wood on an aluminium frame with levelling bolts, so its face is brought exactly flush with the track surface; a red foul board in front of it makes the line readable from the runway.
Screw extractors are supplied for lifting the board out of its tray between events. The Elite system adds a demountable plasticine insert and a steel scraper, which is the arrangement used where a judge rules on the imprint rather than on sight.
