Pole vault landing system
The landing system takes the vaulter down from the height of the bar. Blocks of polyurethane foam of 24 kg/m³ density are held together by belts and closed by a cover of weather-resistant synthetic material; the top face is a mesh that stands up to spiked shoes. The upper mat is 7 cm thick and carries its own anti-spike cover.
The range runs from the Basic system for schools to the Major championship system for international meetings. Above the Federal level the mats carry metric marking along the front so the uprights are set to the same position every time. Modular versions have a separate cover on each block; single cover and comfort plus versions close the whole surface with one piece.
