ARGES Tx/Rx photocell
ARGES Tx/Rx is a two-part photocell: a transmitter on one side of the track and a receiver on the other. The beam works over distances of up to 150 m in normal conditions, which covers the full width of a track including the outside lanes, and it reacts within half a millisecond of being broken.
In athletics it is used to take finish and intermediate times where a photofinish camera is not in use, and to feed the timing system at the intermediate points of the longer races. Two contacts are available, each usable as normally open or normally closed. Power comes from three internal AA cells or from an external 12 V supply; a carrying case is included and tripods are ordered separately.
